Cadore is the area covering the north-east section of the province of Belluno, comprising some of the most beautiful peaks of the Dolomites, such as Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Antelao and Pelmo. The area of Cadore is a sought-after tourist destination receiving every year a large number of visitors in its cozy hotels, thanks also to the wide range of activities you can practice during the year.
The area of Cadore features many museums: the Archaeological Museum in Pieve di Cadore, the Eyewear Museum and Titian’s House in Cibiana di Cadore, and the Messner Mountain Museum Dolomites on Mount Rite.
Winter is the perfect season for practicing many outdoor activities: downhill and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, Nordic skiing, ski mountaineering, and exciting snowshoeing tours among charming snowy landscapes. In summer the area features several trekking and mountain biking trails, interesting Haute Routes and vie ferrate. Bicycle enthusiasts have at their disposal the cycle path Lunga Via delle Dolomiti, along the route of the old railway going from Calalzo to Cortina.
Worth a visit are also the Somadida Forest, stretching between Auronzo and Misurina, and the Misurina Lake, mirror of the imposing group of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo.
